Valve introduces Paid Mods. Bad move.

Up until now, everyone always anticipates any update from Valve with a smile. Unfortunately, today is different. Today, Valve introduces paid mods for Steam games, starting with Skyrim. You want to download a mod, you pay for the service. 

This is a bad move by Valve as game modding is supposed to be a fun and creative ways for users to alter the content of a game to increase the fun value of a game, making it more pleasent to play the game by adjusting it to user's content. 

Introducing payment option just destroys the value in modding. Instead of creating mods for fun or creativity, it will influence modders to making money focused on money-making value instead of quality or creativity value.

It's not even a day yet since update and many people have criticized Valve's new policy. Please Valve let the existing paid mods be the last ones there are.

Samsung Galaxy S5 - a threat to Iphone 5S

In smartphone os wars, normal consumers and gadget enthusiasts often pair up android and ios as rivals. However, when it comes to smartphone branding wars, it is always Samsung Galaxy series vs Apple Iphone series. With both smartphones excelling in everything they're made to do, the smartphones which gives the best first impression will be a deciding factor for a normal consumer.

Galaxy S5 definitely wins the 'best first impression' award.

The official introduction video of Samsung Galaxy S5 is just beautiful, well-designed and looks professional. From the first second until the last, it clearly points out every feature it states. The innovation put into the flagship smartphone stands the Galaxy S5 out from other competitors, most known innovation is the heart pressure scanner. You have to see the official introduction video if you haven't done so.

Letting go of the past, improving yourself, moving on

It has been two years since I left UTM, three years since I started college life, and four years since I took SPM. After I left UTM I am not a very jolly person. I am very depressed to leave a public university, leaving my friends and achievements behind. The worst thing is I chose to study at MMU, an expensive private university, with expensive living expense. My parents suggested this but we never examined how much the fees are, and I was clueless at the moment due to depression. Since MARA suspended my tuition fee loan , father paid all the money, borrowing money from my sister. I am sad and very unproud of myself. If I talked to the deans of UTM, didn't care that much about not-so-bad CGPA at UTM, I could've continued IT program at UTM. Maybe if I made the right decision, I might have not feeling depressed and actually want to continue studying. But all is past.

Everyone moves one.

While I'm stuck in nowherestate, my friends move on. They participated in various activities, making themselves and their parents proud. They study overseas, doing this and that, posting happy statuses on facebook etc etc.

I'm jealous.
I want to be jolly again.

I'm sad.
They move on, continuing their lives, leaving whatever in the past behind.

I'm happy.
They move on. My friends move on.
At least they're not me. I am not a person that everyone remembers, but I'm happy to know them, to watch them grow, to know they didn't stumble in life like me.

I currently still am in a stumbled state. I will stand up. It's hard, but I won't give in to depression. I will study, but not for the same reason I studied for like 11 years, for SPM, because parents say so. No. Just to get a job. Have some money. Help people when I can. Participate in IT development. Whatever I can do.

I will do what I can to be a 'pendakwah', because that is the purpose I'm here.

Should you upgrade to Windows 8? Pros and Cons.

Since Windows 8 has been released by Microsoft last year, many people are arguing whether they should upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8, since Windows 8 doesn't offer much upgrade from its last version. In this blog, I will list all the pros and cons of Windows 8 compared to Windows 7 based on my opinions, in a simple way, and I'll sum the conclusion whether you should upgrade to Windows 8 or not.

PROS

-Super fast booting time

Windows 8 offers super duper fast booting time compared to Windows 7. Yes, I've installed so many software and games, and it still boots fast. 

-Perfect environment to develop software and apps

Windows 8 environment allows you to build and test apps for Windows Phone / RT on the spot. This is, of course, useful for developers only. Normal consumers who use their PCs or laptops to play games or write office documents won't benefit from this.

-Faster performance (games)

I noticed a significant change in game performance the first time I played Dota 2 after I installed Windows 8. It runs smoother on the same setting. No, it's not a feeling. I can notice the movements of my characters are much smoother and less spiky. For a gamer like me, it's a 'hell yeah'!

-Faster search result

If you type anything on the search bar, assuming you can find it //sigh// , the result will pop faster than you reading this. Definitely helps when you just can't find that important file you desperately need to hand it to your boss, or to transfer it into usb, etc.

CONS

-Minimalistic border and taskbar

It makes the UI looks dull as hell. No more aero and transparent border is unacceptable Though it is one of the reason Windows 8 has fast startup. Plus why the sharp edge? We need a curvy edge. Even iphone don't have edges that sharp. lol

-You can install apps!

One of the many useless features in Windows 8 is that you can install apps from windows store! Yay! Which is useless since all the apps you need for the PC is usually downloaded through the browser like we usually do in Windows 7.

-Hard-to-navigate start menu!

The start menu is good. But worse when compared to Windows 7's. It doesn't serve its usual purpose anymore. I often just type in what i need in the search bar rather than finding it in the start menu, cause it is kinda... umm....troublesome...? Normal consumer won't like this confusing change.

-Where can I set up ad-hoc?

You just can't create ad-hoc connection like you used to in Windows 7 wtf. Of course, you can, if you google how to. But that's quite thumbsdown from me.

CONCLUSION

It is definitely not worth your cash to upgrade to Windows 8. There's too little changes compared to Windows 7. I recommend you stick with Windows 7 for now and wait until Windows Blue comes out. Yes, there's already another OS in development and it is supposed to be an upgrade version of Windows 8. It's like a big patch! And will cost no dollar for anyone who already has Windows 8.

Aku sudah buncit

Lama sudah tak update blog ni. Semua gara-gara tekanan selepas keluar dari UTM. Selama hidup aku ni, kejatuhan ini lah yang paling besar aku tempuhi. Aku dah rasa perit hidup. Macam-macam jadi lepas aku keluar UTM, namun, bersyukur la jugak sebab tak melibatkan kematian ke ape ke, huhu, cuma melibatkan keruntuhan keyakinan diri yang kerdil ini.

Aku selalu murung. Entah roommate aku kat MMU perasan ke tidak, aku selalu cuba untuk bersendirian dalam bilik, main game sorang2, makan sorg2, tk pergi bilik sebelah cari member ke ape ke. Aku taknak diorang tahu yang aku tengah 'jatuh'. Aku nak merehatkan minda. Lama juga aku murung ni. Nak dekat setahun. Main dota je keje. Study dah tak ingat sebab tension je memanjang.

Result sem 1. Ajaib jugak la

Aku belajar lebih kurang 12 tahun dalam aliran sains, pastu masuk course engineering, last2 drop amek programming. Sape x kecewa. Ayah aku la yang paling kecewa. Harapan untuk anak bongsunya jadi doktor, tak tercapai langsung. Kalau aku jadi dia pun aku sedih tau. Kadang2 aku bermimpi juga... aku drop programming, ayah aku tanggung fee hantar aku study medic kat uni al-azhar. Kadang2 aku tertanya...mimpi itu....boleh jadi kenyataan kah? Namun aku tak cakap apa2 pasal tu dengan ayah, aku teruskan je la dengan programming ni.

Due2 hodoh

Maaf la kalau ayat berterabur. Saya tak merancang penulisan ni. Main tulis je ape yang ade dalam kepala. Hee.

Dah 2013 dah. 2012 dibazirkan begitu je. Sekarang tengah cuti sem. Tak lama lagi aku akan pergi UTM, melawat membe2 sekalian. Lepas tu masuk MMU balik. Dah masuk MMU, aku nak mintak maaf kat rumet kalau dah susahkan dorg ke, buat dorg rase x hepi ke dok ngan aku, selame ni. Tak nak murung2 dah. HUMPH GRR.

Lagi satu, jeles jugak tengok membe ramai2 g oversea. Waaa jeles gile. Nape la aku x apply oversea dulu. Aiyoo. Mungkin sebab aku xde ahli keluarga yang pernah g oversea kot. Takde sape nak menceritakan betapa seronoknya pergi oversea, so tak terlahir niat di hati nak pergi oversea. UUU.

Paling jauh aku pernah pergi pun hanyalah bali cerap di utm. lol

Pastu perut dah buncit. Damnnn nooooo. Tak terlintas di fikiran aku jadi boroi. Padahal keding je dulu. Damnnnnnnnnn.

Apa-apapun, aku nak berubah sedikit demi sedikit. Menjadi rusya yang ideal, seperti yang diidamkan oleh parents selama ni. Aku nak buat lagi ramai kawan (kena belajar bersosial sikit la), nak bawak kereta jumpa farahin, nak kerje ngan windows, dan macam2 lagi. InsyaAllah. Sampai di sini sahaja la penulisan kali ni.
